Who is MAUDE?
MAUDE is a 1965 Covered Wagon vintage caravan and a symbol of the mobility of the classes and workshops we offer. MAUDE is an inspiration space, a roving art gallery, a storehouse of art supplies, and a hub of creativity.
MAUDE is named after the iconic character in the cult classic “Harold and Maude” — a quirky woman who is bright, carefree and lives her life to the fullest. But it is also an acronym for what our vintage trailer represents: a Mobile Art Unit Designed for Everyone (MAUDE).
Where does MAUDE reside?
MAUDE lives in Nutley, New Jersey.
Is MAUDE available for my event?
Absolutely. MAUDE is available for private parties and events as well as for educational and corporate workshops.
Do I have to pay any travel fees?
Travel is free up to 10 miles from Nutley, NJ and $2 per mile thereafter. Google Maps is used to determine mileage.
Do you require power and water?
MAUDE does not require water so we can operate anywhere. (She does come equipped with a portable tank bathroom!) If your event is in the evening and requires electric lights and you do not have an accessible hook up, our generator rental fee is $250.
Does MAUDE have to come along?
No. All Food for the Soul Train events, classes and workshops can include MAUDE or not – that’s totally up to you.
I want to reserve MAUDE and/or FOOD FOR THE SOUL TRAIN for an event. What do I do?
Choose an à la carte item on our MENU and contact us. We will email you to collect more information and provide details. Please note a 50% deposit is required to secure our time. Final number of participants and balance due 7 days prior to your event. Cancellation fees apply (see below). Full payment is required at the time of booking if the event is within 7 days of booking.
What are your cancellation fees?
7 days prior to event: 25% cancellation fee
Between 4 and 7 days prior to event: 50% cancellation fee
3 days or on the day of the event: 100% cancellation fee
